FAQ

I’ve never heard the word “proselytize” used in a positive way.  I think it is because it suggests that one person is trying to force beliefs onto someone else who doesn’t want those beliefs.  If that is what proselytizing is, we are not going to proselytize.  However, we will be sharing our faith and our understanding of the gospel.  This faith is so much a part of our lives, it would be impossible to know us and not hear about it at some point.

So, do we force our beliefs on people?  no.  Do we talk about our faith with people? yes.  Are we fully open and honest about what we believe?  yes.  Is it ok if someone disagrees with us?  yes.

We create places of dialogue (both casual and structured) with non-Christians about the gospel.  However, I hope that we respect both the gospel and non-Christians enough not to force it on them. We don’t believe that the truth of the gospel depends on our ability to convince someone else that it is true.  We just believe that the gospel is truth, period.  The gospel’s truth rests on its own.  When people aren’t afraid of letting someone else disagree, it allows the other person freedom to discern truth.  If they are really trying to seek the truth, they will find it.

Are you going to proselytize?
